pretentious moi, mais oui?

In a shameless attempt to increase further my already well cultivated tee collection, I've reinvented myself as a bard type in entering the excellent tee blog Torso's Tank Theory giveaway compo. Avast as my words on theories dribble onto your receptive organs.

Theory of Theories by Webbins

The eerie thing about theories,
Is that no-one ever wearies,
From the constant speculation,
And the fervant celebration,

Of ideas borne in dreams,
Of slumber that turns to screams,
And all because our notions,
Are fuelled by basic emotions,

My theory on theories is that,
More than often they fall flat,
But we will always try in vain,
While our ideas outweigh our brain.

Fuck me if that's not a winner.

the end of 30 days

So the 30 days of threadless sale has ended, there have been some good shirts printed and some not so good, very not so good. I managed to acquire 2 shirts, behold...

I'm chuffed to bitsies to get the reprint of Funkalicious, although as I speak it's still waiting to be despatched (why do threadless take so long to despatch, employ some flunkies godammit!). Having missed out on the 1st edition print, this little hot cake sold out overnight while I snoozed & I losed. Facial Hair Club is good while not exactly groundbreaking but it's one of those conversation pieces, not that I'm bad at starting conversations, well you know what I mean.

i died for ewe

New threadless sub went up over the weekend, also for the 'Fast Food Nation loves threadless' sub comp. Big news for threadless is they allow subs with 5 colours now, & they are also releasing their own custom made tees. I've made use of the 5th colour to allow for a bit of shading, the design itself is inspired from the KLF, & the time in the 90's when they took a dead sheep to an awards ceremony with a note attached saying 'I died for you.' I've had some good comments so far so we'll just have to see.

update: like the lamb, this also died, 1.82/5... pass the mint sauce.

headbanger, fizzled & died

Ahhh, the joys & pleasure of subbing to threadless. I submitted 'Headbanger' on Thursday & the weekend came & went, into work on Monday & read the email informing me of it's acceptance to threadless, log in to threadless to view the wonderful comments... hang on, something is amiss, 1.43 out of 5, alas it failed to rouse the loins of the voting public & suffered a miserable fate. 72 designs & counting, no cigar, but God loves a tryer.

the 30 days of threadless

The 30 days of threadless is in swing right now with the build up to Jesus Christmas gathering speed. All tees are on sale for $10 (about £5.30 - God bless the exchange rate) & a small shipping charge with new designs being added every day during this period.

The latest print on this the fifth day is 'Home Is Where The Heart Is' by Ross Zietz. The hook being that when you order this tee, you will be sent one of 6 coloured birds or 'species' if you will. This is a
S E L E C T tee, a more...umm...well select range of designs that retail for $25, this designs are by invitation only & are not included in the regular threadless competition. Shucks, just getting printed in the regular compo would be enough for me, sniff, sniff. I like it, but it ain't quite cotton cocaine, still another 25 days left for something to get the cold sweats going.

my name is ralph...

...and I am a t-shirt addict. I have been an addict for many years now, not only in t-shirts but in sneakers too. Unfortunately I am also a graphic designer, & as a designer I naturally want to get printed... & paid, it's all about the rent. This will be my blog about the life of an addict.
